How to increase Back Flexibility?

Perhaps the key factor in increasing back flexibility involves self-discipline. You have to do it – every day. This doesn’t mean you have to go through some long, complex process to accomplish a bit more flexibility and comfort in your life. You just have to do something basic each day. That’s it.

Not only will you increase your flexibility and help your overall body status, you may be able to avoid further pain and keep yourself from experiencing injury in the future. One of the best back-stretching exercises requires lying on the floor, face down. Place your hands on the floor, palms down, lift your chest and arch your back slowly!! Next, get on your hands and knees then stretch your back by arching it like a cat. These are two good, basic stretches that will provide some extra flexibility.

Now lie on your back. Bring your knees up slowly. Rotate from side to side – from the waist down. Touch the floor on both sides. This is called the lumbar roll. If you can’t stretch all the way to the floor on each side, go as far as you can. Increase your roll gradually until you can roll and touch the floor on both sides. Don’t move your back or shoulders from the floor. You are on the way to better back flexibility.
